Jimmy Altadonna Lauded as SUNYAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Senior forward Jimmy Altadonna (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) of the State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, as announced Monday by the conference office.

Altadonna collected two goals and two assists this past week for the Hawks, lifting New Paltz to a pair of SUNYAC wins and a berth in the 2011 SUNYAC Tournament. He buried a game-tying goal late in the second half against SUNY Fredonia on Friday, leading the Hawks to a 2-1 double-overtime victory. He then followed that performance up by being involved with each of New Paltz's three goals in a 3-2 win over Buffalo State on Saturday, offering one score and two assists.

On the year, Altadonna has four goals and two assists for 10 points. New Paltz (8-8-1, 4-4-1 SUNYAC) qualified for the SUNYAC Tournament for the first time since 2004 and concludes its regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 26, against Drew University, hosting the Rangers at 3 p.m. Prior to the start of the match, the Hawks will honor their 13 seniors.
