Saturday afternoon marked the first Hudson Valley Extramural Classic Volleyball tournament held on the campus of SUNY New Paltz in the Hawk Center.  The series is designed to give Intramural Champions from local schools the opportunity to play in a tournament against one another for bragging rights in the area.  Each semester schools will send their best to compete in 2 or 3 chosen Intramural events.  The Volleyball Tournament was the first in which the HVEC had four member universities (Culinary Institure of America, Marist College, Mount Saint Mary's College & SUNY New Paltz). 

This tournament featured 2 teams from New Paltz & MSMC and 1 team from Marist and the CIA each.  The six teams competed in a single elimation tournament to crown the HVEC Volleyball Champion for 2012.  The afternoon was full of enthusiam, excitement, school pride, and respect for one another.  In the end New Paltz was victorious in close match-up with the CIA.  Congratulations to the champions from New Paltz: Tom Viscardi, Sean Garry, Danny Nardiello, Nathan Reszitnyk, Nicole Wissler, & Loren Crabbe.
