Senior Spotlight: Five Questions with Goldie Harrison

New Paltz athletic communications intern Ava Yurchison caught up with senior Goldie Harrison of the New Paltz women's basketball team for the week 17 release of the 2015-16 Senior Spotlight series that will have a new senior interviewed every Monday.

Q: What brought you to New Paltz?
A: "The culture of New Paltz is one of a kind, one you can't really explain unless you experience it for yourself. I had a gut feeling about this school from the start. It just had so much to offer. It was academically competitive with a plethora of different majors and student clubs, and not to mention, the Hudson Valley is gorgeous! It was the best decision I ever made; this school has changed my life in so many aspects."

Q: What is your proudest memory as an athlete at New Paltz?
A: "Winning the SUNYAC championship as a freshmen. It was an amazing feeling to be a part of such a strong and talented team and making it to the NCAA Tournament."

Q: Can you tell me about your experience working with WABC?
A: "It's been so great so far, I've really learned a great deal since I've been here. It's pretty cool that I get to dabble in all the different departments. For example, one day I'll be on set for Live! with Kelly and Michael and then the next I'll be in the control room or on set for the EyeWitness News."

Q: What is something most people wouldn't know about you?
A: "I'm really goofy. If you've seen me on the court or in the gym, you would assume that I'm probably always serious or something, but I'm actually so far from that!"

Q: What are you going to miss the most about New Paltz?
A: "The vibes! I'm definitely going to miss the friendly atmosphere and the good vibes and energy here. There is nothing like this place."
