AVCA Division III National Player of the Year (2016) – first ever in program history, member of the 2016 NCAA Division III National Championship team – first team national championship in Hawks history, three-time First-Team AVCA All-America, four-time All-UVC, three-time First-Team All-UVC, ECAC First-Team All-Star, NCAA Tournament MVP, UVC Tournament MVP, two-time Floyd Patterson Male Athlete of the Year Award winner. Smith finished his career with 2,972 assists — fourth-most all-time, 242 blocks — seventh most all-time, 950 career points, 704 kills, 95 aces and averaged 6.93 assists in his career through 125 matches played with 118 starts. During the 2016 season, Smith averaged 10.49 assists per set, ranking seventh most in all of Division III and produced 1,143 assists — which at the time was fourth most in single-season program history.
