SUNY New Paltz Athletics

Junior runner Joe Gentsch broke an eight year old school record in the 8k at the Albany Invitational on Saturday. Competing against Division I, Division II and Division III schools, Joe ran a school record 25:29, finishing 16^th overall. Gentsch crushed the previous record of 26:15 set in the 2001 NCAA Regional’s by Phil Goodwin. The team placed 16^th out of 24 teams, finishing ahead of a Division I program.
