Taylor helped guide the men’s basketball team to a 3-0 start, playing a pivotal role in each of the squad’s three games on the week. He poured in 20 points in the Hawks’ thrilling season-opening win over Mount Saint Mary on Wednesday and provided a momentum-shifting dunk on a fast break in the final minute of play. Against Hamilton College in the Hamilton Tip-Off Tournament championship on Saturday, he scored 25 points—just two off his career-high—and led the program to its first title of any kind since the 1998-99 season with an 88-84 win over the Continentals. He was named the Most Outstanding Player on the All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the event. On the week, he averaged 19.3 points per game and 4.0 assists per game.
