Van Tyne averaged 6.0 kills per set on the week, as the Hawks lost to the No. 3 Stevens Institute of Technology, 3-0, on Tuesday before rebounding with a straight-set victory over Endicott College on Friday. He led the Hawks with 36 total kills on the week and achieved a solid hitting percentage (.443) in spite of his large number of swings. He floored a match-high 17 kills against the Ducks, adding one block solo and two block assists. Versus the Gulls, he hit .500 with a match-high 19 kills and three attack errors in 32 total attempts. He also chipped in with three block assists against Endicott. The 15th-ranked Hawks are 10-8 overall on the year and 2-4 in the UVC.
