Jenkins averaged six points and four assists per game in a 1-1 week for the New Paltz men’s basketball team. He dished out two assists running the point for the Hawks in a 95-67 loss to Buffalo State on Friday night. On Saturday, he was instrumental in New Paltz’s 54-52 victory over SUNY Fredonia, scoring 12 points off 5-of-8 shooting from the field to go along with his career-high six assists. On New Paltz’s final offensive possession, he shed time off the clock and eventually fed the ball inside to teammate Alan Siergiej, who ended up hitting the game-winning layup with 1.5 seconds left. For the season, Jenkins is averaging 4.1 points per game and 2.1 assists per game. New Paltz (7-10, 4-7 SUNYAC) faces SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday, Jan. 31, in a crucial SUNYAC clash in Potsdam, N.Y.
