Garo averaged 10.22 assists per set in a 3-0 week for the 15th-ranked New Paltz men’s volleyball team. In addition to his assist production (92 total), he added 14 digs, which works out to 1.56 per set. To boot, Garo recorded four block assists during the week, averaging 0.44 per set. In a 3-0 win against Bard College on Wednesday in the UVC opener for both teams, he handed out 25 assists and chipped in with three digs. On Saturday, he served as an integral member of the Hawk team that twice won 3-0. He dished out 35 assists, had six digs and slammed down two block assists against The Sage Colleges before contributing 32 assists, five digs and two block assists against Philadelphia Biblical University in the nightcap. For the year, he is averaging 9.73 assists per set (253 total) and 1.42 digs per set (37 total). New Paltz is 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the UVC, and the Hawks are currently riding a five-match win streak.
