Brewer dazzled in her first two collegiate starts, fashioning a 2.40 ERA and a 2-0 record for the week in leading the Hawks to two wins. In addition, she held opposing hitters to a .214 batting average during her two appearances. She hurled a complete game on Wednesday against Mount Saint Mary College, going seven innings while yielding just two hits and one walk. She also struck out a game-high four batters. Brewer returned to the circle on Friday against SUNY Oneonta and gained her second victory of the week, as she tossed 4 2/3 frames. She scattered seven hits and permitted three walks and a hit-by-pitch. New Paltz (7-9, 2-0 SUNYAC) returns to Mary Gray Deane Field on Wednesday, April 4, as it takes on Manhattanville College in a 3 p.m. non-conference twinbill.
