Vega picked up two shutouts in three games during the week of Sept. 2-9. After giving up two goals and picking up her first loss of the season to Union (N.Y.) on Sept. 5, she rebounded at the Simmons Tournament on Sept. 8-9 with back-to-back shutouts, bringing her season total to four. She saved 24 shots over the three games this week, amassing a save percentage of .923 and a goals against average of 0.62. Her two shutouts this week were No. 28 and 29 in her career at New Paltz, which surpasses the program record. To date, she has earned a 4-1-0 record, making 29 saves for a .935 save percentage and a 0.39 goals against average. New Paltz returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 12, with a 4 p.m. matchup with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Alumni Field.
