Suzuka met NCAA provisional qualification in both backstroke events, leading the Hawks to a third-place finish at the 2012 ECAC Winter Championships. Suzuka won the 200 backstroke, checking in at 2:03.17. That time cleared the 2012 selection standard, but the swim fell just short of the A cut mark. She also hit the NCAA B cut in the 100 backstroke, clocking a second-place 57.20. Furthermore, Suzuka placed eighth in the 200 individual medley (2:14.81) and 11th in the 100 butterfly (1:00.23). Suzuka lent her talents to three Hawk relays, too: the third-place 200 medley relay (1:50.23), the third-place 400 freestyle relay (3:37.29) and the fourth-place 400 medley relay (4:03.04). New Paltz closes out the calendar year on Saturday, Dec. 8, as it visits Ramapo College for a 1 p.m. meet.
