Senior middle hitter Jake Moore led the Hawks to the championship game in the Nazareth Tournament before falling to # UC Santa Cruz 3-2 in the finals. Moore was outstanding in the tournament as the Hawks went 3-1 while defeating two top 15 teams in the country.
The Hawks cruised by #15 Nazareth in the opening game with a 3-0 win, as Moore finished with 13 kills, two service aces, four digs, four blocks and one assist.
The second game against Eastern Mennonite University, the Hawks won 3-1, as Moore finished with 20 kills, one ace, six digs and two assists.
To move onto the championship game, the Hawks squared off against cross town rival #10 Vassar, who two weeks ago defeated the Hawks in a five set thriller in the Hawk Center. The Hawks revenged the loss with an easy 3-0 victory. Moore tallied 16 kills, two aces, nine digs and one block.
In the championship game, the Hawks fell 3-2 to the #3 team in teh country, UC Santa Cruz. Moore was outstanding, finishing with 24 kills, four aces, seven digs and five blocks.
