Lutjen hit at a .600 clip and averaged 5.22 assists per set in a 4-0 week for the Hawks. He helped sixth-ranked New Paltz the Vassar Tournament title, and in recognition of his contributions, he was named to the All-Tournament Team. In a 3-0 win against Johnson & Wales University on March 29, he collected three kills, 11 assists, two service aces, three digs and three block assists. Lutjen was key in the Hawks' 3-0 victory over previously-unbeaten and top-ranked Nazareth College on March 30, posting an .818 hitting percentage (10-1-11) and dishing out 19 assists. He fell just short of a triple-double in that match, gathering nine digs. Finally, in a 3-0 win against Vassar College on March 30, he contributed nine kills, 17 assists and three digs. For the season, he ranks second on the team in assists per set with 5.34, serving as a setter in a 6-2 offense. He also owns a .281 hitting percentage (188-82-377). New Paltz (24-5, 8-3 UVC) is currently riding a nine-match winning streak and next faces New Jersey City University on Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m.
