Herbst averaged 5.92 digs per set, leading the Hawks to a 3-0 week. She tallied 31 digs in a five-set win over SUNY Plattsburgh on Friday, adding two service aces. She then notched 16 digs in a 3-0 victory over SUNY Geneseo on Saturday before collecting 24 digs in the nightcap against SUNY Fredonia, which New Paltz won, 3-1. Herbst, who has been filling in as the team’s libero in Carrie Hack’s absence the past few weeks, ranks second on the team in digs per set (4.36). New Paltz (15-5, 3-0 SUNYAC) returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 2, for a 7 p.m. non-conference match against Baruch College.
