SUNY New Paltz Athletics

Distler had two top-three finishes individually at the Vassar Sprint Invitational on Sunday and swam the anchor leg on the Hawks' event-winning 200 freestyle relay (1:31.00), leading New Paltz to a first-place finish out of six teams at the meet. His 200 freestyle relay team set the meet record in the process, and the contingent's victory locked up the Hawks' invitational triumph. Second-place Vassar College was just seven points back of New Paltz in the final team standings, while third-place Skidmore finished eight points back of the Hawks. Individually, Distler won the 200 freestyle (1:49.98) and placed third in the 100 butterfly (57.33). New Paltz next competes at the 2014 SUNYAC Swimming & Diving Championships at Erie Community College's Burt Flickinger Athletic Center from Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 20-22.
