Rutcofsky did not allow any earned runs over 19 innings of work in a 2-3 week for the Hawks. For the week, she yielded 11 unearned runs off 16 hits and five walks while striking out nine. She scattered six hits and allowed four unearned runs in a 4-2 loss to Western Connecticut State University on Wednesday before bouncing back with a five-hit, complete-game shutout on Friday against SUNY Oneonta, striking out four in the Hawks’ 3-0 triumph. Finally, on Sunday against SUNY Geneseo, she allowed five unearned runs off seven hits while striking out four. For the year, she leads the team in ERA (2.94) and strikeouts (29). New Paltz (7-12, 4-3 SUNYAC) returns to action today (Monday, April 14) against The College at Brockport in a 12 p.m. doubleheader.
