Scardino scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner, in the Hawks' 3-1 win over Farmingdale State College at the Vassar Invitational. New Paltz went 1-1 on the week and at the Vassar Invitational, falling to Elms College, 1-0, on Sunday. Scardino's first goal came in the 39th minute, receiving a ball from Danny Sloan and burying it into the back of the net. After a scoreless beginning to the second half, Scardino added insurance in the 66th minute, receiving a ball from Brian Spina and outpositioning a Ram defender to score the goal. New Paltz (1-2) next hosts Hunter College on Saturday, Sept. 13, in its home opener.
