Herbst averaged 5.00 digs per set across 13 sets played in a 4-0 week for the Hawks, earning Tournament MVP honors at the Vassar Tournament. By virtue of going 4-0 at the event, New Paltz won the Vassar Tournament title. Herbst also averaged 0.69 service aces per set and 1.08 assists per set for the week. She joined the 30-dig club against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday, totaling 33 digs and adding eight assists in the Hawks' five-set win over MIT. Later that evening, Herbst defended 17 digs and floored five service aces in New Paltz's 3-2 triumph over Ramapo College. In Saturday's first match, a 3-0 win over the College of Mount Saint Vincent, she totaled eight digs, and in the team's final match of the tournament on Saturday, Herbst collected seven digs in a 3-0 victory over host Vassar College. For the season, she leads the team and ranks fourth in the SUNYAC in digs per set (4.21). New Paltz (6-2) next hosts the 12th-annual Hawks Invitational from Friday-Saturday, Sept. 12-13.
