Tyson went 2-1 in doubles play and 1-0 in singles play, helping lead the Hawks to a runner-up finish at the SUNYAC Tournament. In the quarterfinal round in a 5-0 win against SUNY Fredonia on Friday, she won, 8-0, with teammate Brittany Grandville at No. 3 doubles before winning, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 singles. On Saturday in a 5-0 triumph over SUNY Oneonta, she won, 8-1, at No. 3 doubles with Grandville, while she went 6-0, 6-1 in an unfinished match at No. 5 singles. Finally, in a 5-0 loss to SUNY Geneseo in the championship match on Sunday, she lost, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles with Grandville before leading, 7-5, 2-0, over her opponent at No. 5 singles when the match ended. Tyson, a freshman, ends the fall portion of the Hawks' season at 12-0 in singles play and 6-1 in doubles action. New Paltz (9-3, 3-0 SUNYAC East) will continue its season in the spring.
