Scher finished fourth out of 212 runners at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, clocking a 25:54 in the 8K race. He covered the race in a 5:13 mile pace, and the performance proved to be the third-fastest in program history and just nine seconds off his lifetime best. The Hawks placed fifth out of 18 teams at the meet and bested No. 31 nationally-ranked Tufts University. New Paltz now will spend the next two weeks gearing up for the SUNYAC Championships, which will be hosted by The College at Brockport on Saturday, Nov. 1.
