Borquist earned SUNYAC Tournament MVP honors after helping lead the Hawks to their second-ever SUNYAC title and their first since 2009 over the weekend. She floored 17 kills, hit .412 and added 12 digs in New Paltz’s 3-0 SUNYAC Tournament semifinal win over The College at Brockport on Saturday night. Borquist followed that up with another outstanding performance in the SUNYAC Tournament final on Sunday, notching 17 kills and 16 digs in the Hawks’ 3-0 victory over SUNY Fredonia. For the season, she leads the SUNYAC in kills per set (3.74) and is tied for seventh in the conference in hitting percentage (.243). New Paltz (31-5) earned the SUNYAC’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament and will begin regional play on Friday, Nov. 14.
