Koenig posted two top-10 finishes individually and had several fast relay splits at the highly-competitive MIT Invitational from Friday-Sunday in Cambridge, Mass., as the Hawks posted a fourth-place result. Individually, Koenig placed eighth in both the 50 freestyle (21.53) and the 100 freestyle (47.52). Koenig's strongest relay split of the weekend came in the preliminary heats of the 200 medley relay, as he split a 20.54 anchoring the relay. He participated on the Hawks' fourth-place 200 freestyle relay (1:26.15), fifth-place 200 medley relay (1:36.17), fifth-place 400 freestyle relay (3:10.80), seventh-place 800 freestyle relay (7:19.17) and seventh-place 400 medley relay (3:37.38). Koenig's fastest 100 freestyle split of the weekend came in the 400 freestyle relay final, as he clocked a 46.16.
