McCulloch placed among the top 10 in two individual events at the highly-competitive MIT Invitational from Friday-Sunday in Cambridge, Mass., helping lead the Hawks to a third-place finish out of eight teams. Individually, McCulloch placed sixth in the 100 butterfly (58.74), seventh in the 50 freestyle (24.85) and 12th in the 100 backstroke (1:01.37), with her 100 butterfly performance coming within a half second of the program record in the event. McCulloch was a member of three top-five relays, too: the 200 freestyle relay (1:37.91, third), the 200 medley relay (1:50.29, fifth) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:40.59, fifth). Her 25.64 butterfly split on New Paltz's "A" 200 medley relay was the second-fastest in the field. New Paltz has nearly a month off from competition before swimming at the University of Tampa Invitational during its annual training trip on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 1 p.m. in Tampa, Fla.
