Roach averaged 13.5 points per game on 70.6 percent (12-of-17) shooting from the field in a 1-1 week for the Hawks at the Cregger Classic hosted by Roanoke College. For his efforts across both of New Paltz’s games at the Cregger Classic, Roach was named to the All-Tournament Team. In addition to his scoring average, Roach averaged 5.5 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, 0.5 steals per game and 0.5 blocks per game while shooting 100 percent (3-of-3) from behind the arc. He netted 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor on Friday, helping lead the Hawks in a 77-69 loss to Roanoke. He then scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds on Saturday, as New Paltz topped Eastern University, 76-62, in the consolation game. For the year, he leads the team in field-goal percentage (53.2 percent) and is also averaging 10.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. New Paltz (3-6, 1-1 SUNYAC) visits SUNY Cortland next on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m.
