Rosa averaged 13.3 points per game and 5.7 steals per game in a 2-1 week for the Hawks. Rosa shot 41.9 percent (13-of-31) from the field on the week and knocked down 72.7 percent (8-of-11) of his free throws. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists per game. On Tuesday against SUNY Oneonta, he scored nine points and added five rebounds, four steals and four assists in the Hawks’ 98-72 loss. Rosa netted 14 points and chipped in with five steals and five assists in New Paltz’s 64-42 victory over SUNY Potsdam on Friday before falling just short of a double-double with 17 points and eight steals in a 69-55 win over SUNY Plattsburgh on Saturday. His eight steals against the Cardinals tied a single-game program record. For the season, Rosa leads the SUNYAC and ranks fifth in NCAA Division III in steals per game (3.7) and is tied for fourth in the conference in points per game (15.6). New Paltz (10-10, 8-5 SUNYAC), which is in a tie for fourth in the SUNYAC standings, next faces SUNY Oswego on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 5:30 p.m.
