Burgess batted .409 (9-for-22) with seven hit by pitches, four runs scored and two doubles in a 3-5 week for the Hawks. She batted 4-for-5 with one run scored in New Paltz's 4-3 game-one win in 10 innings over SUNY Oswego on Tuesday before going 1-for-3 with one run scored in the Hawks' 5-1 triumph in game two. On Wednesday, she went 1-for-2 with one run scored in a 3-2 game-one loss to SUNY Cortland before hitting 1-for-3 with an RBI in a 5-1 loss in game two. After drawing three hit by pitches in a doubleheader split against SUNY Geneseo on Friday, she batted 1-for-3 in an 8-1 game-one loss to The College at Brockport on Saturday before hitting 1-for-1 with a double and two hit by pitches in the team's 5-0 game-two setback. On the season, she leads the SUNYAC in hit by pitches (18) while tying for fourth in the conference in stolen bases (12). Burgess is also batting .325 on the year. New Paltz (17-16, 9-9 SUNYAC) wraps up its season on Monday, April 27, with a 3 p.m. non-conference home doubleheader against Brooklyn College.
