Borquist averaged 4.62 kills per set and hit .245 (60-21-159) in a 3-0 week for the Hawks at the first SUNYAC Pool Play of the season. In addition, she averaged 4.00 digs per set, 0.85 service aces per set and 0.31 blocks per set. She floored 23 kills and added 15 digs, three service aces and three blocks, as New Paltz edged SUNY Fredonia, 3-2, on Friday in a rematch of last year's SUNYAC title match. On Saturday, she hit .308 (16-4-39) and chipped in with 14 digs and six service aces in the Hawks' 3-1 win over SUNY Potsdam before posting 21 kills, 23 digs, two service aces in a block in the team's 3-1 triumph over SUNY Geneseo. On the year, she leads the SUNYAC in kills per set (4.48) and ranks among the conference leaders in service aces per set (0.59, second) and hitting percentage (.270, eighth). New Paltz (11-6, 3-0 SUNYAC), which is riding a six-match winning streak, entertains Williams College next on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m.
