Tierney won her bracket in both doubles and singles play at the Connecticut College Tournament on Sunday, helping the Hawks show well in their final competition before the SUNYAC Tournament. She paired with junior Olivia Ammirati in the flight three doubles bracket, as the pair won, 8-6, against the tandem from NCAA Division I College of the Holy Cross before downing the team from NCAA Division I University of Hartford, 8-3. In the flight five singles bracket, Tierney bested her counterpart from Connecticut College, 8-6, before eking out a 9-8 win over her opponent from Hartford. On the season, Tierney is 7-2 overall in singles play and 6-4 overall in doubles play. New Paltz (4-2, 3-0 SUNYAC) competes at the SUNYAC Tournament next from Friday-Sunday, Oct. 9-11, at the Binghamton Tennis Center in Binghamton, N.Y.
