Kaefer achieved an NCAA "B" cut in the 400 individual medley, as the Hawks finished sixth out of eight teams at the highly-competitive MIT Winter Invitational from Friday-Sunday. She charted a time of 4:36.29 in the preliminary heats of the 400 individual medley to achieve NCAA "B" cut qualification, which is the fastest time in the SUNYAC this season by more than 11 seconds. In the evening session, she placed sixth in the event with a time of 4:38.60. Kaefer also scored points in the 200 individual medley, clocking a 2:12.35 to finish 12th overall. That swim in the 200 individual medley is the fifth-fastest time in the SUNYAC this season. Kaefer also contributed to the New Paltz "A" relay that finished 10th in the 800 freestyle relay (7:52.76) and the New Paltz "B" relay that finished 15th in the 400 freestyle relay (3:42.71). The Hawks will now take a month off from competition before swimming at the St. Pete's Classic in St. Petersburg, Fla., during their annual winter training trip on Sunday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m.
