Small averaged 18.3 points per game off 54.3 percent (19-of-35) shooting from the field and 83.3 percent (15-of-18) shooting from the line in a 3-0 week for the Hawks that moved New Paltz into a two-way tie for first in the SUNYAC. She also averaged 5.7 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game. On Tuesday, she scored 17 points and added five rebounds and four assists in the Hawks' 70-59 victory over Catskill Cup rival SUNY Oneonta. On Friday, she scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in just 20 minutes of action, as New Paltz downed SUNY Potsdam, 83-52. Saturday featured Small's best collegiate performance to date, as she connected on 11-of-11 free throws and 8-of-13 shots from the field to notch a career-high 27 points in the Hawks' 81-73 win over SUNY Plattsburgh. Her 27 points are tied for 10th in the school record books in the single-game category. Small currently leads the team and ranks sixth in the SUNYAC with 13.8 points per game. New Paltz (15-5, 10-3 SUNYAC), which currently owns a six-game winning streak, next hosts SUNY Oswego on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 5:30 p.m.
