New Paltz junior guard/forward Kit Small led New Paltz in scoring as the Hawks went 3-0 this past week to stand alone atop the SUNYAC standings. For the week, she averaged 17.3 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, 0.7 blocks per game and 0.3 steals per game while shooting 48.4 percent (15-of-31) from the floor and 88.9 percent (16-of-18) from the free-throw line. Small hit 5-of-8 shots from the field and 5-of-5 shots from the line to tally 17 points in New Paltz's 83-32 win over SUNY Oswego on Tuesday. Small followed that up with 14 points, six assists and seven rebounds in the team's 55-41 win over SUNY Geneseo on Friday before closing the weekend out with 21 points in the Hawks' 72-60 win over The College at Brockport on Saturday, showing her dominance at the free-throw line as she converted 9-of-11 shots while shooting 5-of-12 from the field and 2-of-4 from 3-point range. Small currently tops the team with a 14.3 points-per-game average, which ranks sixth in the SUNYAC. New Paltz (18-5, 13-3 SUNYAC), which is riding a nine-game winning streak, next visits Buffalo State on Friday, Feb. 19, at 5:30 p.m.
