Williams batted .375 (6-for-16) and fashioned a 2.25 ERA on the mound, helping the Hawks go 0-2-1 on the week. He batted 1-for-5 in the team's season opener on Saturday, as New Paltz lost, 14-0, to Washington (Md.) College. On Sunday, he hit 1-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in a 16-6 loss to Keystone College before batting 4-for-6 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in a come-from-behind 11-11 tie versus Johns Hopkins University. Williams also lent his talents to the mound against the Blue Jays, yielding just one run off one hit while striking out two in four innings of work.
