Rutcofsky fashioned a 1.75 ERA and went 2-1 this past week for the Hawks. In addition, she struck out 17 batters. On Tuesday in the front end of a doubleheader against the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, she threw a six-hit shutout, striking out six in the Hawks' 3-0 win. After sustaining the loss in a 5-3 game-one setback to The Sage Colleges, Rutcofsky bounced back with a career-high-tying 10 strikeouts in game two, lifting the Hawks to a 5-0 victory. On the season, she leads the team in ERA (3.31) and strikeouts (27). New Paltz (7-7) next visits SUNY Plattsburgh for a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Friday, April 8.
