Cavanagh covered the Saratoga Invite 5K hosted by RPI in 18:19.50 for seventh overall (of 157 runners) and helped lead the Hawks to a third-place finish (of 13 teams) with 105 points, trailing just RPI & SUNY Plattsburgh, who are ranked 2nd and 10th in the USTFCCCA Atlantic Region.
