Senior Jake Moore led the Hawks to a 2-1 start in the 2009 season and a third place finish in the Hawks Invitational. New Paltz fell to eventual Champion Sacred Heart 3-1 before defeating MIT 3-2 and Emmanuel 3-2.  Over the three matches, Moore totaled 50 kills, 41 digs and nine blocks; seven of which were solo blocks.
