NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team begins competition against familar State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foes on Saturday, Nov. 16, when the Hawks host SUNY Oswego at 1 p.m. at Elting Pool.
Records: New Paltz is 1-0 entering Saturday's meet, while Oswego is 3-1.
Scouting the Hawks: The Hawks return to Etling Pool for the first time since a Nov. 2 victory over Ramapo College… Last Friday and Saturday, New Paltz competed in the two-day New York University Invitational, racing against two of the top teams in Division III NCAA swimming, host NYU and Stevens Institute of Technology… The Hawks placed third, finishing meet with 119 points… NYU pulled away on Saturday to win with 396 points, while Stevens finished with 277 points... Scouting the Lakers: Oswego enters Saturday's meet with three straight wins, having defeated Clarkson 112-68 last Saturday… Prior to that victory, Oswego had victories over Wells (77-44) and SUNY Oneonta (150.5-78.5)... Against Clarkson, senior Lauren Jackson placed first in the 800-meter freestyle... Freshman Diana Galiatsatos came in first in the 200-meter freestyle... Junior Sabia Filiaci finished first in both the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly... Senior Katie Flood won the 200-meter IM while freshman Katelyn Bauersachs came in first in the 100-meter freestyle… Senior Ashley Rode was at the top of the 100-meter backstroke… Senior Samantha Moss scored a 148.40 in the one-meter dive and a 157.65 in the three-meter dive while junior Kathryn McKinney scored 138.05 in the one-meter dive.
