Six different Hawks won individual events, led by senior
Cassidy Griger (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown Central), who won both the 200 freestyle (1:59.26) and the 500 freestyle (5:18.21). Sophomore
Molly McCulloch (Rome, N.Y./Holland Patent) captured the 50 freestyle (25.62), freshman
Jaimie Kaefer (North Bellmore, N.Y./W.C. Mepham) took the 200 individual medley (2:15.11), senior
Maggie Heaton (New Milford, Conn./New Milford) won the 100 butterfly (1:01.05), freshman
Katie Donlevy (Bayside, N.Y./The Mary Louis Academy) finished first in the 100 freestyle (55.46) and freshman
Kaleigh O'Halloran (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) topped the field in the 100 backstroke (1:04.06)
New Paltz rises to 2-1 with the win and next competes at the MIT Invitational from Friday-Sunday, Dec. 4-6, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Pace drops to 4-2 with the loss and next hosts Rowan University and St. Peter's University in a tri-meet on Saturday, Nov. 21.
In addition to seven individual event victories, New Paltz won both relays. The 400 medley relay team of O'Halloran, sophomore
Megan Joseph (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge), Heaton and Donlevy charted a winning time of 4:08.92 in the meet's first event, while the 400 freestyle relay squad of freshman
Nicole Lee (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale), senior
Ella Graffin (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca), McCulloch and Griger closed out the meet with a winning standard of 3:45.65.
Second-place finishes came from Donlevy in the 200 freestyle (1:59.78), McCulloch in the 100 butterfly (1:03.05) and senior
Casey O'Connor (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) in the 100 backstroke (1:04.15).
