Highland, NY — Despite a gloomy forecast, Hawk nation came out in full force for the 11
th Annual Golf Tournament, and helped make it a successful event for SUNY New Paltz Athletics.
Director of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation,
Stuart Robinson, said, "We are happy that the weather cooperated to allow alumni, staff, student-athletes, and friends to participate in this year's 11th annual golf tournament. It is rewarding to see so many people come out to support our student-athletes in pursuit of their opportunities here at New Paltz."
The highlight of the tournament came with an eagle on the par four 10
th hole by the group of Bob, Ed, Spencer, and Brian WIlliams. Spencer Williams drove to the right edge of the green and then Bob Williams followed it up by nailing the roughly 30-foot putt. However, at the end of the day the eagle only moved them up to a second place finish.
Andrew Titus, Kennedy Cheruyiot, and Jim Pasacoft ended up at the top of the leader board finishing at a remarkable -12. It was the second year in a row for Titus and Kennedy sporting the green jacket, while Pasacoft joined in for the title run this year.
Other events included a putting and long drive competition as well as a closest to the pin challenge. John Paquette snagged the putting title and the closest to the pin challenge, while Spencer Williams won the long drive competition.
Alumni, fans, parents, athletes and staff came together in support of SUNY New Paltz Athletics and made the 11
th Annual Golf Tournament a proud moment for Hawk athletics.
