New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz women's basketball team released its 2022-23 schedule Tuesday.

After a third straight 20-plus win season, a third straight SUNYAC Championship and a third straight trip to the NCAA DIII tournament, the Hawks women's basketball team looks to continue their legacy of excellence in the 2022-23 season.

SUNY New Paltz opens up its 2022-23 campaign at Hudson Valley rival Mount Saint Mary College Nov. 8. The Knights are coming off a stellar 24-4 season, winning the Skyline Conference and earning a berth in the NCAA DIII tournament, one of three teams the Hawks will face who won conference championships. The team will then host its first home campaigns against the Hawks of Hartwick College on Nov. 11 and Misericordia University the following day on Nov. 12.

The Hawks travel to Mechanicsburg, PA for the Messiah University Tip-Off Tournament, opening against Lycoming College Nov. 18, with the championship final and consolation games held on Nov. 19. In addition to host Messiah, 2021-22 NCAA III participant Clarks Summit University rounds out the tourney foursome. SUNY New Paltz continues on the road, crossing the Hudson River to take on valley adversary Vassar College on Nov. 22 and opening its 2022-23 SUNYAC account against Catskill Cup rival Oneonta Nov. 29. Womens Basketball Schedule Graphic 22-23 Brianna Fitzgerald

December sees the Hawks playing four SUNYAC competitors, hosting Potsdam Dec. 2 and Plattsburgh Dec. 3, then traveling the length of the thruway to tackle SUNY Fredonia and Buffalo State Dec. 9 and 10, respectively. SUNY New Paltz closes out the 2022 part of its schedule away at Union College on Dec. 30.

After the New Year, The Hawks will complete their regular season series with Oneonta, hosting the Red Dragons on Jan. 7 in the Hawk Center. Heading back to Western New York the following weekend, they will then meet Brockport on Jan. 13 and the always tough at home Knights of Geneseo the next day on Jan. 14.

SUNY New Paltz returns home for four SUNYAC games: hosting Cortland, who the Hawks beat to capture the SUNYAC crown last season, on Jan. 20, followed by Oswego on Jan. 21. The next weekend, SUNY New Paltz completes the season series against the Bengals and Blue Devils at home Jan. 27 and 28, respectively.
