SCHENECTADY, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz swim teams were in action Saturday at the Union Tri-Meet hosted by Union College. The meet was contested at Union's Alumni Gym Pool featuring the host Chargers and SUNY New Paltz. The men and women finished second out of the two teams.
Abigail Dusseault claimed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:44.03. Desseault also took first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:43.42. Kelly Schweizer claimed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.30. The women placed first in the 400-yard freestyle relay (Abigail Dusseault, Molly Snyder, Amanda O'Brien and Shannon Corr) with a time of 4:06.67.
Alexander Gorzula finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.86. Gorzula would also claim first in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:02.30. Venn Engstrom finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.52. Jack Wirth finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.11. The men also took first in the 400-yard freestyle relay (Venn Engstrom, Jack Samko, Steven Macaluso and Antonio Vavalle) in a time of 3:18.67.

The Hawks will return on November 3 when they travel to face Division Two Adelphi University in Garden City, NY at 4:00 PM.
