GARDEN CITY, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz swim teams were in action Friday on the road at Division Two Adelphi University. The men and women both came in second to the host Panthers.
Abigail Dusseault claimed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:39.31. The women finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (Molly Snyder, Halea Duryea-Stern, Abigail Keiser, and Shannon Corr) with a time of 1:53.22. Halea Duryea-Stern claimed second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:38.62. Duryea-Stern also claimed second in the 50-yard breaststroke in a time of 36.24. Chloe Jeffares finished second in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 30.26. Shannon Corr came in second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.74. Corr also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.59. Molly Snyder finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:10.36. Sage Vadney finished second in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 33.33.
Jack Wirth finished first in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 25.37. Antonio Vavalle claimed first in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:03.70. Steven Macaluso finished first in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 24.39. The men took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (Venn Engstrom, Jack Samko, Steven Macaluso and Paul Castner) in a time of 1:31.31. Venn Engstrom finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.51. The men would also take second in the 200-yard medley relay (Jack Wirth, Venn Engstrom, Steven Macaluso, and Jack Samko) in a time of 1:39.0. Venn Engstrom finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.51.

The Hawks will return on November 17 when they travel across the Hudson River to face Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY at 6:00 PM.
