New Paltz — The NCAA released its Region III regional ranking of the 202-23 season Wednesday with the State University of New York at New Paltz earning the No. 2 spot behind Ithaca College.
The Hawks are undefeated in the SUNYAC with an impressive 20-3 overall record for the season so far, hosting the SUNYAC semifinal and final rounds on Feb. 24 and 25, respectively. SUNY New Paltz have won 17-straight, including closing out its regular season home schedule this past weekend with double-digit wins over Geneseo and Brockport, in which coach Jamie Seward earned his 300th career victory.
Behind the Hawks in the latest rankings are Rochester, Cortland — who earned the No. 2 seed behind SUNY New Paltz in the SUNYAC Tournament —St. John Fisher, Skidmore and Merchant Marine Academy.
