New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York New Paltz student-athletes thrived in the classroom this past fall.
Nearly 60 percent of student-athletes earned a spot on the Hawks Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2025 semester with 174 achieving a 3.4 GPA or higher for the semester. There were 27 more who earned a perfect 4.0 with 10 student-athletes sustaining a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
There were 159 student-athletes who earned a 3.5 or better with 33 juniors and seniors being newly inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society with 18 more earning a second-year induction.
The Hawks field hockey program had the highest overall team GPA with a 3.66, followed by men's soccer (3.57). As a department, Hawks student-athletes earned a 3.34 GPA, higher than the Hawks average last fall of 3.21.
