Biography

2019: NCAA National finalist, becoming first Hawk to qualify for the national meet twice... Earned NCAA All-Region after placing 16th overall with a time of 22:36.7 at the Atlantic Regional meet at St. Lawrence University... Earned First-Team All-SUNYAC honors after placing third overall with a time of 23:04... also had top-10 standings at the Vassar College Season Starter (seventh overall), Ron Stonitsch Invitational (ninth overall), the New Paltz Invitational (second), Purple Valley Classic (ninth overall) and Ronlad C. Hoffman Invite (third overall)... inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Academic National Honor Society... earned a spot on the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor-Roll.

2018: Started her historic season placing 19th overall and second overall at the Vassar Season Starter and Ron Stonitsch Invite, respectively… placed fourth overall at the Bill Fritz Invitational with a time of 23:21…. Clocked in at 23:39 for 116th at the Paul Short Invite… placed 13th overall at the Connecticut College Invite with a time of season-best time of 22:17.8… helped the Hawks to a third place team finish at the SUNYAC Championship meet after finishing sixth overall with a time of 24:39.1, which notched Cavanagh a Second-Team All-SUNYAC selection and a place in the SUNYAC Hall of Fame… placed 10th overall at the NCAA Regional meet with a time of 22:52.4, earning a spot in the NCAA National race where she came in 84th with a time of 22:26.1… All-Region selection… earned a spot on the 2018-19 SUNYAC Academic Commissioner’s Honor Roll. 

2017:
Cavanagh kicked off the season by finishing third overall at the Vassar College XC Opener with a time of 11 minutes, 16.9 seconds and second overall a week later at the Ron Stonitsch Vassar Invitational after crossing in 19:18. She then finished top-14 in her next four races, including 12th overall at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational (18:57.1), 13th overall at the Saratoga Invitational (18:19.1), 12th overall at the Connecticut College Invitational (23:03.9) and 14th overall at the SUNYAC Championships with a time of 23:57.1, which helped the Hawks to a third place team standing, their highest in program history. At the NCAA Division III Championships, Cavanagh concluded her season with a 25th overall finish after crossing in 22:46.7 to help SUNY New Paltz to an all-time team best 10th place finish. Cavanagh earned a spot on the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team. She was named All-Region for the second straight season, ran her way to a Third-Team All-SUNYAC selection and was named team MVP. Cavanagh also earned a spot on the SUNYAC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. 

2016: Named All-Region… SUNYAC Rookie of the Year... Posted a school record 6k time of 21:57.6 at the NCAA Regional Championships (30th of 303)… Placed 15th of 113 at the SUNYAC Championships (22:35.2)… Ran a time of 23:38.7 at the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Invitational (fourth of 111)… Finished seventh of 157 at the Saratoga Invitational (18:19.5)… Clocked a time of 23:11.48 at the Rowan Invitational (third of 148)… Placed 16th of 197 at the Vassar Invitational (19:35.2)… Completed the Vassar Season Opener in a time of 11:32.4 (fifth of 31).
