Biography
2009-10: SUNYAC Commissioner’s List and All-Academic Team member… Boasted a sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly at SUNYACs, charting a time of 53.82… Finished 16th in the 200 freestyle at the conference meet (1:55.41), but swam a season-best 1:47.25 in the preliminary heats… Claimed 15th in the 100 freestyle at the SUNYAC Championships, posting a 49.36 mark… Registered a season-best 49.05 in prelims… Went a 22.59 in the 50 freestyle leading off New Paltz’s 200 freestyle relay in prelims.
2008-09: Earned team's Hardest Worker award... Member of the 200 freestyle relay team that took third at SUNYACs... Also finished 10th in the 100 butterfly,16th in the 50 freestyle and 14th in the 100 freestyle at the conference championship meet.
2007-08: Placed 13th in the 100 butterfly in 55.22 at the SUNYAC meet… Named to the SUNYAC All-Academic Team.
Prior to NP: 2007 graduate of Long Beach High School… Named team's MVP… Relay placed second at NYS meet… All-Division, All County, All-State and All-Long Island.
Other: Son of Mark and Gene Demerest… Brother Mike was a member of the swim team from 2004-2008.
