Supporting Hawks Cross Country


SUNY New Paltz is committed to fielding a nationally competitive cross country program that will compete for a SUNYAC championship. With the addition of Coach Thomas Hartnett and his staff, the future of #NPHawks Cross Country promises to be bright. Thank you for your support!

Program Highlights: Cross Country
  • Orquidea Briceno and Marcella Candlin earn 2024 All-SUNYAC Honors
  • Evan Miller and Gavin Bowers earn 2024 All-SUNYAC Honors
  • Vincent Mandracchia 2023 Men's Cross Country Elite 20 Recipient
  • Kate Cochran became just the sixth Hawk to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship race in 2022.
  • Kate Cochran tied Emily Cavanagh for best finish by a Hawk in a SUNYAC Championship race (third overall)
  • Kate Cochran earned First-Team All-SUNYAC and All-Region honors in 2022.
  • Clara Flores-Reininger and Kate Cocharan earn All-SUNYAC honors in 2021, including a SUNYAC Hall of Fame induction for Flores-Reininger
  • Three athletes qualified for 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship meet in Louisville, KY — most ever in program history
  • Men placed fifth overall at 2019 SUNYAC Championship meet 
  • 2018 All-Region selection and NCAA Nationals qualifier (Emily Cavanagh, 10th overall at Atlantic Regionals)
  • 2018 and 2019 SUNYAC Hall of Fame inductee (Emily Cavanagh and Reed Williams)
  • 2018 SUNYAC Rookie of the Year (Clara Flores-Reininger).
  • Flores-Reininger first freshman to cross at both SUNYAC and Atlantic Regional Championship meets, placing 17th and 63rd, respectively.
