Jessica Chilcott enters her first season on staff as an assist for Hawks Interim Head Coach Rick Spriggs ahead of the 2025 season.
Chilcott joins SUNY New Paltz following a decorated five-year college career at Division I Iona University where she graduated with an undergraduate degree in Adolescent Education as well as a Master's Degree in Special Education and Literacy. She will serve as an outfield, hitting and catching coach for the Hawks.
Chilcott played high school softball locally for the Kingston Tigers. She was three-year varsity starter, a two time NY All-State selection and was recognized by multiple Hudson Valley publications as a standout local softball athlete during her high school career. Chilcott played travel softball for the Ulster Fillies organization and culminated her travel career not only with her recruitment to Iona University, but ending with a Nationals runner-up finish with her team and was selected as the Defensive Player of the Tournament at the 2019 USSSA Open Nationals.
A five-year starter as a catcher then outfielder for the Gaels from 2019-2023, Chilcott was named First Team All-MAAC in 2019, 2021 and 2022. In her 2021 season, she was honored as MAAC Player of the Year after posting a .362 batting average, .771 slugging and .473 on base percentage while accumulating 13 doubles and 10 home runs. She finished her college career near the top in program history as an offensive player with finals marks of a .300 batting average, .522 slugging, and .391 on base. She accumulated 166 hits, 39 doubles, 26 home runs and an even 100 RBI.
Chilcott lives in Ulster Park, NY with her parents Mike and Jean. She has three brothers Michael, Matthew and Zachary.
