Rick Spriggs Headshot

Rick Spriggs

Spriggs enters his fourth season as a member of the Hawks coaching staff ahead of the 2025 season.  He will serve as the Interim Head Coach for the 2024-2025 season after serving as the lead assistant on coach Krysti Neufeldt (Maronski)’s staff for the past three seasons.

Spriggs was a part of back-to-back SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year selections following the 2023 and 2024 season (a first for the program), and also helped guide the team alongside Head Coach Krysti Neufeldt to consecutive 30-plus win seasons for the first time ever, along with consecutive regular season conference titles and in 2024 the program's first SUNYAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.

He began his first stint on staff in 2022 after serving as a head coach and tournament director for the Ulster Fillies travel softball organization since 2005.  While a coach with the organization, he guided his teams to two USSSA Nationals Open runner-up finishes at the 18U level in 2012 and 2019, as well as several other top four finishes in Nationals competition.  He is proud to have helped more than 80 of his former travel players go on to play in all divisions of NCAA play.

Spriggs has been a long-time participating instructor at multiple college coaches clinics.  He is the current clinic coordinator for the CEW College Coaches Clinics which is one of the largest recruiting clinic/tournament venues in the area working alongside many of the finest Northeast Regional college coaches, including a majority of coaches from the SUNYAC.  He owns and operates College Exposure T&C and runs several tournaments annually.

He began his familiarity with the Hawks softball program as his daughter Fallon suited up for the blue and orange from 2015 to 2017.

Spriggs has been a financial consultant since 1984 with an office in Kingston and the Plattsburgh area.  He currently lives in Kingston, NY. with his better half Melanie.  Rick and Melanie have five children and four grandchildren (Morgan, Nolan, Norah and Finley).
