Biography
Athlete Top Times:
2019-20: Touched first in the 200 freestyle (Western Connecticut)... placed second in the 200 freestyle (Hartwick) and 200 butterfly (Western Connecticut)... finished third in the 100 freestyle (Adelphi, Oneonta), 500 freestyle (Hamilton) and 200 freestyle (Oneonta).. at SUNYAC Championship meet, placed 13th in 100 freestyle and 15th in the 100 butterfly.
2018-19: Set personal records in the 100-, 200 and 500-yard freestyle with times of 49.61, 1:50.62 and 5:01.99, respectively, at the SUNYAC Championships… earned third-place finishes in the 1,000 freestyle vs. Ramapo College Dec. 8 and 500 freestyle vs. Hamilton College Nov. 17… collected two top-3 finishes in the 50- and 500-freestyle vs. Adelphi University Nov. 10.
High School Accolades: National Honor Society (2018), All County (2015 & 2014).
Personal: From Sayville High School in 2015… previously attended SUNY Potsdam and Suffolk Community College (Sept. 2015 – May 2018)… swam on unified Sayville-Bayport-Bluepoint High School team... son of Tim and Regina Stecher.
Fun Fact: “I compete in USLA competitions on a national level.”
